Oh, this just continues to piss me off. I can't browse the internet without being subjected to "Tsunami Relief" shit absolutely everywhere I fucking go. There are donation drops at my grocery store. I've got Dubya sending my hard earned money to them. Now I'm even getting fucking Tsunami Relief spam, for god's sake. And then I read this. ( Read more... )

Being in national debt, pumping trillions of dollars into other countries, and having the IRS suck the money out of the citizens is what keeps the value of our dollar up. Otherwise the money pool would stagnate because we no longer have the gold to back up every dollar there is floating around. Therefore, our government must do something to keep the value of our dollar, i.e., circulating it as as fast and as much as they possibly can. When there's less of something it's worth more. That's really the only reason we're doing this. You may think it's because our government gives a damn, but we all know they only care when it suits them to do so.

So it doesn't really matter if these little countries that were hit by the tsunami appreciate it because we weren't doing it to help them in the first place.

unfortunately, the value of the dollar has dropped significantly in the last couple of years, and using it to fund aid/relief doesn't keep it in an international market per se as much as it's giving away gift certificates for US products.

As for Simon, I find it deplorable that our federal gov't and some of these aid programmes are sending millions to places like Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Alabama for hurricane relief. I mean, there are KKK members in those states, who have no qualms about killing blacks, jews, miscegenators, etc.

Heh, I do try to have fun, even (or espically) at the expense of others.

Like I've always said, I don't mean to sound cold and cruel and heartless, but I am, so that's just the way it comes out.
