Another plug for Sergei Dovlatov. He is awesome. He reminds me somehow of David Sedaris, in that they both understand how to take normal moments from their lives and turn them into hilarious and wonderful stories. I have come to the disconcerting conclusion that in all likelihood not only am I not going to become Russian by the end of the summer--I am never going to become Russian.
