I have now lost 15.2 pounds (as of this morning's weigh-in). Happily, I have discovered that if I actually eat a bit MORE I am losing faster! My daily calorie goal ("net calories" - which is calories taken in minus calories spent) is 1520. I had been coming in most days at just a bit more than 1000 net calories. It's so refreshing to see someone approach weight loss without the "less food = better" mentality. I mean, it's true in principle, but it's awesome that you're listening to your body and have found that line between starvation and weight loss :)
