What do you need to do to get it finished? Probably 2-3K on the Arrow fic and about 25K on Gingerbread.
Any stumbling blocks? Procrastination and a heavy workload. I'm so tired when I finally get the chance to write that I usually veg out, reblogging gifs on Tumblr or playing Fallen London.
Would you like to be poked repeatedly with a sharp stick until you finish? Not this time. I think that would just make me avoid email/LJ!
Do you have any fortnightly goals? Finish the Arrow fic and write at least 3K on Gingerbread.

What do you need to do to get it finished? I need to figure out John Watson's voice/part in the story, and I need to figure out whether the bondage theme in the story is working.
Any stumbling blocks? (please say whether or not you're happy for people to offer advice) My plot is the major one. I know what I want to write vis. the unfolding relationship/relationship dynamic, but I'm also trying to make this a casefic of sorts and it's really not working. I'm not sure whether I should scratch the casefic part of it or not at this stage. I would value any advice from people who have experience with casefic and/or strong plotting knowse (because I have zero).

What do you need to do to get it finished? God knows what the wordcount would be - I thought the first half would be ~30k in all. Probably at least another 5k for this quarter and 40k for the second half, and likely more.
Any stumbling blocks? Being put-off by difficult to write parts and just not doing them for long stretches of time. Signing up for different fanfic challenges and getting distracted writing fic for them. Just plain getting out of the habit of writing. Once it returns, uni. Being worried about the varying quality and put off by the effort that'd be necessary to fix it but feeling that nobody will enjoy it if I don't. Advice on the mental blocks is fine, but not on the writing, thanks!

I'm signing up with two (because I can never stick to a single thing for long):
-Fanfic: the Lost Girl fetchquest WIP of doom that's been staring balefully at me for two years. /o\
-Semi-original: the 1st version-turned-sequel to my Yuletide fic*, because I did way too much plotting/worldbuilding/character work to just let go to waste.

I'm bad at plotting and bad at long, and those two require both. Advice for easy plotting tricks would certainly be welcome.

Plotting is hard. I hope we'll get some good discussions going on things like this, plot is one I'm keen to get more perspectives on too.

Also, knuckling down and actually working on it. Advice only if I ask for it, please.
