What's your WIP? Letters to Christine, a Lord of the Rings RPS fanfic I've been working on for several years. What do you need to do to get it finished? Write the remaining 5-6 chapters. Any stumbling blocks? It's an epistolary fic, a guy writing letters to his dead wife, and it's complicated writing and emotionally draining. Also, I run a fannish community with regular fic writing challenges that I participate in and it takes away from my time. I need to be more ruthless about saying 'no'. :)) (Advice always welcome!!) Would you like to be poked repeatedly with a sharp stick until you finish? At this point, I think I could use it once a week! Do you have any fortnightly goals? I think monthly is more manageable for me. I'd like to finish one chapter per month. That should get me finished by August. Would you like me to record these under a cut on the fortnightly check-in post for extra motivation? No.
What's your WIP? I think I'll go with two. One's an original fic, urban fantasy m/m romance called Shady Hill and the other will be G1 Transformers fanfiction, pretty much a series of PWP oneshots involving Optimus called With Benefits.
What do you need to do to get it finished? For Shady Hill, I need to completely rework the plot. Once I have that, writing it will be a snap. For With Benefits, I just need to finish the last seven chapters.
Any stumbling blocks? I've been struggling with the main plot behind Shady Hill for a couple of years now. I had it going one way, and completely scrapped it. Anyone wanting to toss ideas back and forth would be a godsend. In terms of With Benefits, I mostly know where the last seven parts are going, I just need a nudge to remind me to work on it. Inspiration's good, too. Advice is always welcome.
Would you like to be poked repeatedly with a sharp stick until you finish? Yeah. I get distracted easily. Best method is weekly, I think. PM or E-mail works for me. Knowing that someone is

What's your WIP? Fanfic, Sherlock BBC, at least the next chapter and an outline for what's to come. What do you need to do to get it finished? Motivation. (Better time management.) An outline? Lots of research. Someone to prod me regularly. Ideal would be someone I could talk it over with and/or someone who could give me tips structuring the story/my notes. Everytime I try bringing order into it, it ends up with more chaos. Any stumbling blocks? (please say whether or not you're happy for people to offer advice) Myself mostly. I'm horribly critical and can't let a draft be a draft. I'm also uncreative when it comes to details. I get sidetracked easily, lose focus, even have trouble to keep the voice of the pov-character for more than two paragraphs. Going off on tangents. (I'm always happy for advice.) Would you like to be poked repeatedly with a sharp stick until you finish? (If so, please specify how much poking you would like and how sharp you want the stick to be, and how you'd like your buddy to contact you.) Definitely! As to

How exactly can I imagine this? The idea is that I'll make a list of everyone that requests this, and their fortnightly goals, and record them under a cut on the check-in posts. That way people who want to measure their progress that way can :)
What do you need to do to get it finished? WRITE. Sit down and WRITE.
Any stumbling blocks? (please say whether or not you're happy for people to offer advice) Self-discipline and motivation, mostly, which is why I'm here. I've plotted most of it out, I just need to WRITE it.
Would you like to be poked repeatedly with a sharp stick until you finish? (If so, please specify how much poking you would like and how sharp you want the stick to be, and how you'd like your buddy to contact you.) Please. Sharp is fine, I just need to be poked regularly (weekly?) so I can't just keep procrastinating and forgetting about it. Email would be ideal.
Do you have any fortnightly goals? Like someone else above, it's monthly goals - one chapter/part per month.
Would you like me to record these under a cut on the fortnightly check-in post for extra motivation? No, thanks!
