What do you need to do to get it finished? Direction? Organisational skills? I need to get my ideas into order, so I can sit down and actually write. It's all a bit scattered.
Any stumbling blocks? (please say whether or not you're happy for people to offer advice) Mainly inexperience with writing longer, plot-driven fics. I'm not used to plotting ahead and structuring my ideas.
Would you like to be poked repeatedly with a sharp stick until you finish? (If so, please specify how much poking you would like and how sharp you want the stick to be, and how you'd like your buddy to contact you.) Weekly poking with a fairly sharp stick would be fine. Preferred means of contact is email.
Do you have any fortnightly goals? Planning my fic, structuring ideas and ideally have 1k of new fic written.

Exact Curriculum, a Final Fantasy VII/VIII crossover that puts Vincent in the FFVIII world. And eventually pairing him with Squall. While also figuring out how he got to the FFVIII world and dealing with a new menace. I started it in 2004 or so, wrote like three chapters right away, and then, uh... yeaaaah. Chapter 4 has been a long time coming. And it's probably only eight or nine chapters long?
What do you need to do to get it finished?
Sit down and actually work on it. Probably re-plot the whole thing, since I can't find my old notes, or maybe go through a few notebooks and see if the notes turn up. I know I can finish the current chapter without notes, though. (I should also possibly play FFVIII again.)
Any stumbling blocks?Trying to match tone with something a decade old. Also, there's a lot more background info on the game worlds available now, so there are things in my story that are 'wrong' versus info from world material books, etc. So while I know I can say 'I started this based on game-only info, ( ... )

I think I'm gonna go with my two active tf kink meme fics this time because I'm actually working on something this time.

Both are about a third done, maybe less because I plot basic ideas and new scenes sometimes spring up unplanned, so just a bunch of writing really.

Just lack of dedication due to having no time or muses being fickle. Suggestions accepted, but probably already tested.

Revision is hard, and I have to fight going back and revising the same thing again and again.

What do you need to do to get it finished? Not a lot - a couple more chapters should do it.

(please say whether or not you're happy for people to offer advice) general time constraints with writing (work, study and and the likelihood of uncertainties in the near future). But because this one is well advanced, if I focus only upon it then I figure completion should be achievable (or I deserve to be shot). Yes I'm happy to have advice!
