I finally saw my first NYC rat last night. Big hairy fat brown sucker, climbing down from a street corner garbage can and jumping down a sewer grate. I guess it is an OK substitute for squirrels, if you have nothing better ( Read more... )

It seems I will be working in NYC for the next several weeks. Got here yesterday. Never been here before.

Initial thoughts:

Expensive lodging.
Great food.
Interesting place.

Any advice for places to see, eat, things to do?

Today we took Fergie to the vet for the last time. She was unable to walk except for a very few minutes each morning. Her arthritis had gotten to the point she did so little walking that her muscles atrophied and she could not always stand up. She was not eating and was drinking very little.
