Faint at first,
increasing intensity,
sound of crickets-
crack the night's silent void
as they too mourn spring's passing.

riverside park,
the squeals of distant children,
skipping through clover.

Emptiness, fullness
infinite spaces between
blank or written-
robins sing from dawn's first edge,
sun light spreads from the cliff tops

How full of whiteness
this empty page at dawn,
between bird songs-
how full of possibility
the empty day ahead.

Sometimes i can see that I'm dying,
memories fading away,
or maybe just re-arranging,
their faces, new names, different outcomes.

Sometimes, I feel like I'm fading,
pieces of me just falling away,
flying around in fragments,
lost forever in spirals of void.....
Less of me today than there was before.
can't remember, can't recall it at all.

geese at sunset,
pass silently overhead
between sun and clouds-
traced on the darkening ground
departing shadows . . . . .

night's silence
broken by a steady rain
another day-
this rising dawn,
this waning life.

moments before dawn,
bursting through the night's silence:
first raindrop.

From nothing, Mu!
into nothingness, Mu!
at dawn-
sound of a faraway crow,
drawing near, flock's cacophony.

Still standing,
the long emptied wine bottles,
but not the poets
