How dumb do they think we are?
For a long time, I've felt a vague uncertainty when reading some reportage, especially that concerning political machinations. Do reporters think we're dumb? Reporters are either dumb themselves, have a stunted and eugenically-undeserving sense of drama and flair, or they think we have the cerebral capacity of a rutabega. This has been an interesting week, and next week will be more so. With a relatively small amount of medication and some dedicated diet modification, I've been able to drop my blood pressure from an average of 160/104 down to around 130/80, well within the normal range. Some People Are Great, But Others Sorta Suck.

Hey, we're still alive here in Washington. I've been flying for the past week, and already I've gotten more IFR time than I have in the past two years combined! It's great flying, and though I had a hairy time last Friday (PDX at mins, had to make two missed approaches and finally found a hole at the MDA on the third) it's been a great experience ( Read more... ) -
Crash in the crash pad
I'm writing this from the crash pad here in Portland. I drove up yesterday, a long, long trip through the Central Valley of California, and got to see a lot of boring farmland and then cloudy weather near Sacramento. The clouds broke just as I was passing Mt. Shasta at sunset, so I had the chance to take some beautiful pictures of the peak lit up ( Read more... )
