There's about half an hour left in the official trick or treating period, and once again we have run out of freaking candy.  I really, really thought we had enough this year.  I bought a hundred things of bubbles (hey, they were 20/$2), a couple of huge bags that added up to about 200 pieces of candy, and then today I added 3 smallish bags of Kit ( Read more... )

August is a great month to have TCM--it's their Summer Under the Stars month, where they pick a classic star for every day and show nothing but their movies on that day.  It's a great opportunity to acquaint myself with the work of stars I've heard of all my life but have never really seen anything of.

This past week was my regularly scheduled long trip back to western Kentucky for the most wonderful niece ever's birthday.  She was wonderful, and her present turned out wonderfully (I'll post pictures later), and she seemed to have a wonderful birthday.  Everything else...was less wonderful.

Okay, I have a confession to make about Hank and his adorable little splint. He wore it for a couple of hours Friday, and then I gave him a couple-hour break, as per standard orthopedic advice. Seedtime wasn't what you'd call a big financial success. I made enough to cover my booth rental, gas, and what I spent at the concession stands, and that was about it.
