Random members also get captured and hurt by psychos frequently, leading to suffering and angst and TEAM REUNIONS!!! It's fantastic. Especially when it's Reid getting captured. when criminal minds is on, it is just AMAZING. (occasionally there are less interesting episodes, but the ones as mentioned by thepouncer? oh man.) but now i will forever be bereft that they do not high-five and yell MISSION ACCOMPLISHED when they are on their jet home. :(
