 Madeline L'Engle died this week.  I just found out yesterday.  She, along with Lloyd Alexander, were the two most important authors of my childhood.  I actually got to hear her speak in ninth grade, and she signed three of my books (A Wind in the Door, Arm of the Starfish, and The Young Unicorns, which are my favorites).  I loved almost all of her ( Read more... )

Have I mentioned lately how much I love fourth year?  Right now I'm a TA for anatomy, and I'm loving it.  It's actually pretty long hours, but I'm not being tested on any of the material, so it's very relaxed.  Everything is coming back so easily, it's kind of scary.  I guess that's what happens when you have three years of dealing with the words-- ( Read more... )

Started a new rotation today.  This is my sub-I at AGH.  It's . . . different.  The most bizarre thing is that we don't do rounds.  The other student and I were completely taken aback.  I mean, how are we supposed to discuss our plan with the attending?  When do we present?  How do I coordinate things?  Needless to say, it's going to take some ( Read more... )
