Fairly disappointed in the Yanks' performance on Saturday. Still watching the Coupe du Monde, but with a little less investment. Still, it's fun to watch some of the the greats like Argentina and Germany.

Got a little vacation before my boards, so I get to spend some time studying. At least I don't have to wear a tie.

You're right, I haven't updated LJ in a long while. Suffice to say that having a baby during medical school doesn't leave a lot of time for much of anything else.

Just in case you hadn't heard, Krista and I had a baby boy on Tuesday (the 16th) morning; his name is Lucas, aka "Luke". It's very exciting, but also exhausting, especially since he doesn't seem to like sleeping in his crib (the one place where he is safe enough to be left alone).

Test went well, I'm glad it (and the studying) are over. I was a little nervous at first, but got into the flow and it just flew by. I won't know how I did for up to 6 weeks, but I'm pretty sure I passed, which is what counts. It would have been nice if I could have gotten some sleep the night before, though ( Read more... )

Tomorrow really is huge: I'm taking the first part of the US Medical Licensing Exam. It's 7 or 8 hours of multiple choice questions on everything we've learned in the first 2 years of medical school, and my score will go a long way towards determining which residencies (hence specialties and careers and pay grades) are likely to consider me ( Read more... )
