Christian Conclusions

Okay, everyone who is a hard-core Christian may not want to read this particular rant, so I'm going to put it under a cut.

Glad I could be of service. Yeah, I'm always tickled to find that someone else has also been reading my journal; of course, you can usually tell by the comments. I love to read what other people have to say, because it usually starts me thinking - or ranting!

I have also been a long-time Monkees fan. I went to see them back in the 80's, but it was only Jones, Dolenz, and Tork. It was fun, but kinda over-the-top glitzy.

After I moved out, my mom donated all my Monkees & Partridge Family albums to the church bazaar. I'm trying to find them all on cd as we speak!

I am a Christian and talking to someone like that is not right. I think each of us has our own spiritual journey, where it ends up is to be our fate. I can not judge someone, anyone, because I have no idea what is in store for them.

I am always disappointed to hear things like this.

I think there is a lot of information out there and available to mainly everyone so people can choose or “be enlightened” as they make their journey through life.

All in all I think everyone will hope they lived as they were naturally meant to without regrets and with lots of love.

You make a very intelligent, enlightened point!

It is really hard to admit to being a Christian today if you are not a "fundalmentalist". I have a hard time when one group is so sure they have "THE TRUTH" - it scares me. There are people of many religions giving a bad name to their beliefs. Not all Christians are judgemental and trying to legislate their view of morality, just as all Muslims are not terrorists. Hubby and I have a saying/prayer we hold on to in trying times. "God, make me a seeker of the truth but spare me from those who have found it."

I cannot put a box around God by saying one thing is truth while another thing is not. I try to follow my best conscience and judgement and leave the rest in His hands. I cannot believe that a God who created the world would only "save" Christians (or Muslims) of 1 sect and condemn the rest for eternity since most people's faith has it's roots in the family we were born into. Is HE going to condemn billions of Chinese just because they never heard of Jesus even though they are just as faithful to the beliefs they were raised

I so agree with you! I also like your prayer; it reminds me of a bumper sticker I saw somewhere that goes something like, "God, save me from your followers."

(Not to mention another favorite bumper sticker: I found Jesus; He was hiding behind the sofa the whole time!)

I want to make a bumper sticker that says: "Evolution is a very Intelligent Design!"

Very graceful way of putting it. I wish I could exercise as much class ( ... )

The way I see it, one should never have to send cards or gifts to anyone. It should be done because someone genuinely cares.

This was part of my whole point: if you care, let someone know, but don't just do it because it's a holiday.

I also think that LaVey had some good points regarding human nature, as did many of his predecessors!
