Delita Heiral

Clothing/Appearance:

Delita has three outfit changes during canon. Once during his squirehood, once during his knighthood, and last during his time as a knight devout. The outfit he wears most frequently in camp is the knighthood outfit, seen above. Many of his icons are taken from his days as a squire (example) but he doesn't wear it anymore. On colder days he'll wear a cloak over his armor, and on warmer days he will switch out his iron armor for leather, but he doesn't do this often. Example. Most of the time, you will see Delita wearing full body armor -- on his shoulders, his arms, down to his legs. It's akin to wearing 30 pound weights on himself. Why does he keep wearing it when he isn't fighting a war in camp? Delita greatly dislikes the idea of becoming complacent. He thinks about Ovelia and Ivalice at least twice every day. There is a lot of emotional stock into his armor, for Delita; wearing it makes him feel comfortable. Without it, he feels naked. Sometimes the only bit of exposed skin on him will be from the neck up.

He used to wear his sword with him everywhere he went, but there are places he can't go with a long sword at his hip -- say, the library or the hospital. He will, however, carry a dagger on him no matter where he goes, even if it has to be hidden underneath his clothes. As for height and weight, Delita's pretty average, if above-average on the muscle side of things.

Habits/Mannerisms/Body Language:

The first thing to note is, of course, his manner of speech. It's akin to the Queen's English, which we fondly refer to as faux-Shakespearean but it's not old enough to count in that range. He uses the royal One frequently. For men, he'll refer to them as "Ser." For women, he'll refer to them as "My lady." Even if someone asks him to refrain from using these terms, he'll never stop using them entirely. The only person who gets non-honorific terms is Ramza.

Delita is the complete opposite of Gale in terms of body language. He's very closed off. He's constantly stiff (not like that you perverts) and the only time he's ever relaxed is... when he sleeps, and even then he sleeps lightly. Delita's so used to the idea of watching his back and taking into account all of his surroundings and being ready to jump into battle at any second that... he can't relax, not really.

His attitude changes when he's speaking to certain types of women; to younger women (eg, Toph), he's a lot more friendly and open. Pats on the shoulder, the occasional hug, he'll do that. He might even smile! Gasp. To older women, his body language is... well, he starts acting kind of like Raphael, to put it in shorter terms. His gestures will become a lot more languid and if he doesn't think the woman will hit him (and sometimes even if he thinks she will) he'll initiate touches like holding wrists, touching the small of her back, brushing her cheek, or kissing her hand. For examples... see every single thread he's had with Ashe, um, ever. He'll back off if she tells him to back off, but he'll still keep it up to a certain degree, even if it's just in the way he speaks to her. The way Delita flirts is more akin to being a patronizing ass, but Delita's never really been of the opinion that he should treat women like they're delicate and refined. If they do happen to be delicate and refined, he'll acquiesce to chivalry... but only to an extent. It's good to keep in mind that if Delita is threading with your character, he's probably lying to them about something.

He does have this incredibly annoying habit of cracking his knuckles and neck all the damn time.

Current Residence:

Cabin Rocky Road.

Typical Daily Routine:

Delita wakes up at about 5 am and is usually at the Mess Hall early. He has been known to spend some nights outside, however. All that time spent on missions in Ivalice and traveling from provinces has him used to sleeping in the den of beasts that will attack him while he rests. Sleeping outside reminds him of home. |D MOVING ON. Most days he'll do sword training in the morning, and he'll always exercise (usually just running around camp in his armor). On days he doesn't, he'll actually spend a good deal of time meditating with his sword. This is how Holy Knights draw their power to cast sword techniques; most knights would tell you that this process is called asking God to bless their blades, but Delita is an atheist, so instead he concentrates on the sword's inherent power. This is one of the other ways he keeps himself from getting too rusty. Other than those routines, Delita will change up where he goes depending on his mood. He'll get back to the cabin around 10 or 11 pm, and go to sleep once he's removed his outer armor.

Of note is what Delita eats at the Mess Hall -- he's there promptly for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and eats balanced meals no matter what. Like, his choice in food is so ridiculously healthy it's kind of hard to believe he's a teenage boy.

Favorite Haunts:

Ramza's old Peach Grove, the Mess Hall, the Chocobo stables, the Library, and the Center Of Camp.

Do they make their own bed?

Most likely?
