I think those are petunias in the galvanised pot. Your garden is looking very good. What is the dark purple shrub in the centre of the first picture (is it a smoke bush?).
The ones in the galvanised pot are calibrachoa (million bells)! I went and looked carefully this morning and I had tucked their ID cards into the back of the pot. There are only 3 plants in there- two very dark ones at the ends and a tricolour in the centre.
I think the dark purple one is a Cardinal Flower - I took this picture for you when I was hunting for the ID of the million bells!
I have some things that I keep chopping lumps off, too! The mallow, for example, that can be seen waving skywards at the left of the first picture. Whereas the miniature mallow in a pot near it looks as if it is giving up the ghost.
Your garden looks so pretty. It was worth any amount of money you spent on getting it done. I have just one lavender plant and it is huge and smothered in flower heads this year. The smell is glorious any time I brush past it. Of course, I planted it by the path.
It really has been worth spending the money on it - there has been colour and interest all through since March, and the new planting is complimented nicely with the original plants that we kept.
By the path is the best place for lavender - the one in the next to last picture is in a tub on the path around the back of the house.
