Something that made me happy - and something to make your brain hurt...

On Monday I watched highlights of the San Marino Moto GP on TV (Like F1 for motorbikes). And I was inordinately pleased to discover that it is held at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli ( Read more... )

simoncelli, good grief!, funny

Be fair, she probably meant that 11 other people sank instantly into the green cheese and were never heard from again.

I can't forgive her for Louis Armstrong, though.

Ah yes - that could be the thing that someone called Armstrong is keeping to himself!

Well, Louis Armstrong was inspired to sing “What a Wonderful World” while he was up there so maybe he didn’t want to share the royalties!

What can one say!

"I really wish he would tell us what he saw that means nobody has ever been there since him."

Easy. He saw trees of green, red roses too...

My eyes are rolling way back into my head over that last part.
You should have stopped and sent the list of the other 11! LOL

I remember Marco Simoncelli. I've never been a huge fan of Moto GP racing but Manolo was so we watched all the big races. And of course we have the Jerez Circuit nearby...

Honestly - it was like a line from a comedy show - but even after she corrected the first mistake she sounded genuinely curious about what had stopped anyone else but Neil Armstrong ever going to the moon.

I can still see Marco Simoncelli in my mind - all that hair that was not sensible in a crash helmet :)

Sometimes I feel very old.... especially when listening to announcers.

Oh wow - that person on the radio really had no clue did they! I can't believe her producer didn't explain it to her - that's how misinformation gets out into the world. I hope she's better informed now!

So sad when people with potential are killed. All those 'what ifs....'

It is quite possible that someone corrected her later, I was almost home when she said it. But she does seem to ramble on whenever I happen to catch her. She is not one of my favourites!

Marco Simoncelli had so much potential career-wise - but also seemed to be a genuinely nice lad that I feel he had so much potential to bring happiness to his family, too.
