I have a new toy! My old Nikon camera was really on it's last legs. It had, for example, forgotten how to format a new memory card, but could no longer store anything on the older one. And the focus could be a bit fuzzy

Congratulations to the new camera! My old one can't put in the correct date anymore; stopped to do so after it turned ten, and now it's nearly twenty, so no hope for a miraculous recovery.
The photos are very nice; I know I'm shallow but I particularly like the knitting sheep *g*
I really should take some pictures of the small animals - that one was simply me pointing at the first thing and clicking to be sure I had it right, and is not, really, a good picture.
My real camera doesn't work well any longer. I keep toying with the idea of a new one but would I use it? My Samsung Galaxy S23 phone has an excellent camera and the zoom is great for a phone. Still...I do like the feel and possibilities of a real camera. I love the shot straight into the sun.
My phone is a Galaxy A-thirtysomething, although I am due to change it. But the zoom is, of course, purely digital and it doesn't have the clarity of the 40x optical one - so I decided this camera was my present to me.
I will probably still take a lot of pictures with the phone, but now I can easily take pictures of the birds at the bird-feeders and so on, which I haven't been able to do since the old one stopped working properly.
That's a great zoom. I really should charge up my nice 'proper' camera as Mr Cee bought be a really good zoom lens for it a while ago, and it's so easy to upload the photos to my phone if I want to keep them altogether.
My phone will still be my 'quick pic' go to - but it will be so nice to have a good zoom both at hand for local birds, and to take out if I am going anywhere interesting.

I rather like that shot, too :)
