It's the last day of the year, so let's look at
my goals and see how I did since
October.
1. Facebook
only on weekends. Since my return from Europe, I've been on there every day. Before that, I was doing quite well. Call it a B-.
2. BMI Waiver / Blood Sugar. Of the days I was in Cleveland, I missed maybe 9 days of CrossFit, 3 due to injury, 3 for Europe prep, and 3 concerts. Throw in all that
biking (59/216) and I'm in much better shape, so in theory all that muscle burned more sugar, right? Nope, my blood sugar was about the same as before.
To make things worse, December became "I snack at work" month. Ultimately I snacked at work 55 of 216 days worked, which is better than years past, but not good, especially as most of those snacks were sugar based.
At best, this is holding ground. At worst, my body already can't handle sugar. It may be time to take more drastic steps. Call it a B+ for effort and a F for results, for an average of C-.
3. Platelets. I gave 8 times, and was denied 3 times. 2 of those were incompetence on the part of the person drawing, and the other was low iron. I've got two appointments scheduled for 2016. This is an A+.
4. Shakespeare. Stuck at one play, even with the chance to read during blood donations. D-.
5. In by 9:30am 80% of work days. I arrived later than 9:30 on 11 days out of 216 days worked, which is 94.9%. A+.
6. Stop Chewing My Nails. Never even tried. F.
So the report card is: A+, A+, B-, C-, D-, F.
It could have been a lot better, but it also could have been a lot worse. We'll come up with new goals for 2016.
