F* you Erma, indeed! As a professional counselor, shouldn't she have a little knowledge about situational conditions? I am furious on your behalf.

I am also furious on your behalf. I could HEAR the condescending tone. I think it's GREAT that your mom is able to take Lauren for some time. ABSOLUTELY. And it has nothing to do with your coping skills, in fact, I would say it shows you have GOOD coping skills because you clearly recognized you needed a break and reached out.

I agree to see if you can find someone else. People like Erma shouldn't be talking to people (ever, even in the grocery store).

I am a person who will avoid a confrontation at all costs. I tried - I really did - to politely present our situation. I felt backed into a corner like I was being forced to agree to something I absolutely don't agree with. That's why I silently cried the last ten minutes of the conversation. Anger makes me cry (which pisses me off more) and I felt trapped and defenceless. And, I expected Ross would defend me or try to explain more, but when I tried to get him involved, he was totally diplomatic and non-committal. Of all times to stop being blunt and tactless...

So, the whole thing made me doubt myself and rattled me to the core.
