I voted today

It is a remarkably good feeling to know that I went out and told my government what I want from them. To know that I can choose the candidate that's best for me, and not have to tell anybody about it if I don't want to. To know that promising my brother what I will do in the voting booth has no bearing on what I WILL do in the voting booth. To ( Read more... )

we experienced the marvel of modern technology - filling out our paper ballots ala standardized test oval coloring. :P The machines weren't working in our precinct.

It is! :) And they're much less subjectively interpretable than those punch cards. No hanging chads or "intent of voter" arguments.

VA gave a "congratulations, you voted!" screen, popped your electronic card back out, and you handed it over. No paper at'all.
