Night 59: Main Hallway, 1-West

Kirk ran into the main hallway and found nothing there except more pink light coating everything. His gut feeling said that if something was happening, it should've happened already, but he was a loss to explain what was going on. The system (if he could call it that, vague as it was to describe the whole Landel's torture/ ( Read more... )

Well, that had gone better than he'd thought it would. Perhaps being assertive and expressing his own opinions wasn't so bad after all. Or...maybe it was just because he'd said everything so quickly and left so abruptly that the trio had no time to grasp just what was really going on. Either way, Japan did want to annex the Sun Room in the name of his country and his people. If things were falling apart, then Japan wanted to ensure that the room named after the Sun was his and his alone. He was, after all, the country where the sun rose and not having the Sun Room under his control seemed a bit...well, it was wrong. That was all there was to it ( ... )

Entering upon the scene as if on cue, America stepped in and spotted Japan. It wasn't difficult, they were both nations and both of them had a certain feel about them. All politics aside, however America wanted to know just precisely if he was the only one here with his strength and nationality (could it be called that) returned to him. So he strode across toward Japan with even, firm, purposeful steps. Direct, in ever fashion of the word. "Hey," it was a salutation in addition to getting his attention. "...How you feeling?"

Then he stood up straighter and finally noticed how Japan looked. He'd seen him writing and scribbling on the board and they'd had small communication, mainly when he'd first arrived but he didn't expect to see Japan dressed up to show off. Wait, should he be surprised? Japan always wore crazy things. Not that this looked bad.

Back to the objective. "Oh, hey where'd you get the flashlight?"

Someone was approaching - and not just anyone, but another Nation. They gave off a different feel, a completely different atmosphere than the people here, people Japan's own populace had helped create. They were humans, superhumans, animals turned human and even machines, but even their non-mortal status could not compare to the aura of a Nation. He turned, expecting either Prussia or England and was pleasantly surprised when he was confronted with America. Another ally, albeit one that still thought the present day was the future ( ... )

Basic starting equipment? For a moment America frowned in a thoughtful way but shrugged it off easy enough, like he'd meant to be mistaken instead of being caught off guard. Wouldn't do to be caught off guard again. That wasn't smart. Then, as if he'd just noticed, he glanced over to see England standing there, looking for all intents and purposes like a guy who wanted to say something but was holding back ( ... )

"The patients tend to stockpile what weapons they can find," Japan said, trying his best to stick to the topic and not deviate into talk on dressing up. If Japan had his way, he'd be dressed much differently right now. With so many of his media's characters running around, he felt somewhat plain in comparison. Sure, most of them were still wearing the military issued uniforms, but it was the principle of the thing. He was the nation that had given them life; how could he possibly show his face without looking appropriately impressive ( ... )

Japan wouldn't need to worry about being distracted, America was of the mind to be somewhat scatterbrained, himself. In fact, he'd sort of looked past Japan at something else. But with a quick shift of his eyes he focused back in when it was appropriate, having heard Japan but not really listened to him. Which was a shame because he really needed something efficient to arm himself with given who he was up against ( ... )

That was...fast. Japan barely had time to wish America a safe trip before the younger nation was bounding off for parts unknown. It was very much like him, to be honest, but Japan, like England, had to be a little suspicious. He and America were allies, yes, but Japan was always at America's mercy in some ways and knowing what the boisterous nation was up to at all times was a good way to keep his own nation out of harm's way. "...Perhaps...he had a prior engagement..." Japan said, hoping to alleviate some of England's fears.

But then talk turned toward annexation and the armory and Japan nodded. Even if he could no longer be an empire here, it was important to create safe zones for his people and to claim the Sun Room for the principle of the thing. Japan nodded and motioned forward. "Perhaps this way? I think the armory may be somewhere in this direction."
