Selena killed- How could you live in Texas and not know of this? Try growing up in her stomping grounds. I was in 8th grade when someone said, "Did you hear, Selena died!". Columbine shootings- This went down while I myself was in high school...with our own establishment suffering repeated bomb threats daily for a good month or two. Add that hype to the coverage playing out live in our classrooms led to a very chilling realization that we were not kids anymore.
