don't laugh, but I've read Candide like 4 times. In fact my oral exam (har har) in high school was on a passage from it. So BRING IT.

I once had a huge fight with a guy I had just met, and then swore him as a mortal enemy (I was drunk) over the fact that he thought Dutch 17th century painting was the best art ever made. The funny thing is that years later, I stopped hating Dutch genre paintings and kind of saw it his way, but didn't know where he was to tell him that.
