The latest telephone poll taken by the offices of the Governors of Texas and Arizona asked whether people who live in those states think illegal immigration is a serious problem:
25% of respondents answered: "Yes, it is a serious problem."
75% of respondents answered: "No, no es un problema serio."

San Francisco was fabulous: ate some delicious (mostly fresh and organic) food, biked all over (including a little civil disobedience with thousands of other cyclists for Critical Mass--in the city where it began), walked over the Golden Gate Bridge, used my museum creds to get in free to SF MoMA, went to a farmer's market and bought amazing fruits ( Read more... )

My childhood best friend's husband was just killed in a helicopter crash. He was my age, they had been married only a couple of years, and they have a newborn. I hate knowing that nothing I can do will take away the pain.
