Merry Christmas to the Kobolds, and most especially to you. ^_^

Someone at work has a car with a bumper sticker that says "I BREAK FOR KOBOLDS." What is a Kobold?

I have seen that bumper sticker, and I wants it! darkyak December 30 2005, 08:39:52 UTC
Kobolds (in my and bumper-sticker-guy's terms) are monsters from dungeons and dragons. They're little lizardy things that build traps and have delusions of grandeur of being descended from dragons. They're also extraordinarily weak, spook easily, and never succeed at accomplishing anything they try ever; so they're generally considered to be one of the least threatening creatures you can run into in the game.

So, naturally, they have kind of a cult following, thanks to them being so completely pathetic.

Outside of that context, though, "kobold" is really just a German word for "goblin" or "gnome" or "miscellaneous house spirity thing." That's not nearly as fun, though.
