So, the Middle East Café in Cambridge has this amazing, incendiary garlic spread that it serves with warm pita. They serve this at Zuzu's as well (same kitchen, I think). There's a fascinating article in today's NY Times about the late photographer Gordon Matta Clark's short-lived but deeply playful restaurant, Food. It featured a revolving cast of chefs and a highly experimental, ever-mutating menu (one might even call it Futuristic, in the Marinetti sense of the word).

LTM is reissuing Wim Mertens' Belly of an Architect soundtrack (which also has contributions from Glenn Branca). I've been on the lookout for this on CD for awhile now, so it makes me very happy to know it's on its way in a more accessible form! YAY!

Last minute this evening a friend called with an extra ticket to opening night of this play, Black Maria, at a small downtown rep. So I went, expecting a pleasant evening and little more. I didn't know Leslie Harpold very well, but I certainly wish I'd gotten to know her better.
