Well, that would be almost foregone if you were a smurf because hi, Gargamel was clearly not the sharpest tack on the pushpin board thingy. I mean, presumably Gargy would actually just buy shit with the gold, but then some vapid woman (all the women were vapid in this universe, most especially Smurfette, and where did she get a pearl necklace that size anyway? IF YOU SAY HEFTY SMURF I SWEAR TO GOD I DON'T KNOW WHAT) would end up buying it. And then wearing it.

Speaking of which Congress passed a bill that would lengthen Daylight Savings Time by two months, so that we would be on Daylight time eight months of the year and Standard Time for only four, challenging the very definition of the word "standard".
