Yup, I'm jumping on the Agreeing Bandwagon.....

I went to Highschool with one of the guys and I don't like him anymore now that I did before just because he can throw a rock on some ice.

I think Bifurcation Road does deserve a real name, but I don't think "Team Gushue Drive" is a very good one...but then again, this is from the same man who gave us "Mile One Stadium", which is a pretty dumb name too. Hey--maybe we could have "Team Gushue Stadium" instead!

Mile One Stadium I agree with considering it IS the beginning of the original highway which does go all the way across the country.

Maybe I should have said "lame" rather than "dumb." I did have my reasons, though...

1) Where the TCH actually begins is really a matter of political convenience...Mile 0 was considered to be at Confederation Building for a while, until the new City Hall opened in 1970, and we decided that Mile 0 should be there instead. Now that the Outer Ring Road is finished, it's probably more accurate to say that Mile 0 is at the Country Ribbon Chicken plant in the White Hills, but that doesn't seem nearly as romantic as having it downtown...either way, where the highway begins is really not a hard fact.

2) The stadium could have been named to memorialize a Newfoundland athlete, or a culturally significant person or group, which would have been a lot more meaningful than naming it after its geographical location.

3) Mile? We're metric now! (I know, "Kilometre One" just doesn't work, but...)

Not the strongest reasons, but still, I think Danny could've done better.
