I misread your second question at first and thought "Oh yes, I've seen FAR too many desserts." But now I see it's deserts, and yes, quite a few. I used to live near Death Valley in California, and frequently went that way through our trips across the US. Lots in New Mexico and Nevada too. White Sands in New Mexico is amazing - just miles of pure white gypsum sands, glaring against the sun. Oh, and the Painted Desert, with it's mesas and hills striped with oranges, purples and reds. I love them.
Cooking, my experience is less impressive. I know how to make a few dishes well, and the rest I leave to my husband. (I'm more of a baker.) And I've had freshwater aquariums before, but never salt water. Way too high maintenance to keep up.
