Apologies to my best friend V. Several of the scenes here were inspired by the night she gave birth to her little girl.

Much thanks as always to the lovely 0penhearts  for the beta and for epic ideas for Troy/Abed shenanigans.

Titles comes from e.e. cummings.

You are amazing! I love that it's a J/A fic from Britta's POV. This is exactly how I picture Britta reacting to childbirth and all that stuff- wishing Shirley were there because she's the motherly type. Wanting to ditch and go with Troy and Abed. OMG what Troy and Abed had been doing with the lab coat and wheelchair? That had me wandering off on so many scenarios! And Annie and Jeff are so good in this. Just overall loveliness!

Thank you so much! I'm glad Britta seemed in character here. I totally pictured her as being freaked out about the whole thing but in the end putting her friendship above it all.

And haha! I have no idea what Troy and Abed were doing. I am not nearly funny enough to have come up with an actual explanation for their shenanigans. In my own imaginings Abed was doing research for one of his films. And Troy just really wanted to ride in a wheelchair.

Thank you again for the comment!

Oh wow, this was just pure brilliance. Such a great account of Annie giving birth, and Britta's voice was so spot-on, and so many parts made me laugh out loud or burst into happy tears. You managed to give us a great picture as to what Jeff and Annie's relationship was like, and the way you wrote the Annie/Britta friendship was so utterly beautiful. You could tell that this experience really bonded them, and it happened in such a natural way. Abed's speech to Britta was utter perfection, and I loved how it gave her the confidence to continue being Annie's support. And gosh, the Jeff/Annie-ness was just too adorable for words. This fic was wonderful and beautiful from start to finish, loved it!

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I really love the idea of an Annie/Britta friendship so I'd love the see something where they can rise above the fact that they keep going after the same guy and can just be amazing friends. I see them as being really good influences on each other.

Thank you for reading!

I don't care what anyone else thinks: I. LOVE. SCHMOOP. :D

I really liked how we got to see everything from Britta's point of view. I think that was a great idea!

Everyone was also so in character. Lovely. :)

“I think that’s a good sign. Look honey,” he says looking back at Annie, “Our baby is a genius. She does things.”

I almost feel like a jerk pointing out this one line above all others, since this was so well done and I almost teared up a bit, but this just demonstrates how you've managed to keep them "real," you know, not over-schmoop it and still keep them in character. This was fantastic!

Aww, I'm glad you liked that line. I could hear Jeff saying it in my head. And I figured that even in this situation he would still be good for some snarky comments here and there.

Thank you for reading and commenting!

I laughed and I cried and my roommate may think I've gone insane, but this fic just made my day so much better - I want to skip around the room with joy, which is only something I do on birthdays...and I just realized this is a fic about two birthdays, so, yes, you made me want to subconsciously celebrate my birthday again (whoa, ramble much?). Writing this from Britta's POV was a great move, and you did such a great job with it. And I will never look at lollipops and tongue depressors the same way again.

And...

“Our baby is a genius. She does things.”

...made me laugh so hard. Fabulous job!

Haha. It's always fun to freak out the roommate.

And thank you for the lovely comment. I love the idea of skipping around the room with joy on your birthday. Reminds me of Michael Scott. Or, the immortal words of Professor Whitman, "I shall have birthday cake!"

But ahem, thank you again. :)
