Don't get me wrong, it's been a good week in many ways but I could have lived without

Oh don't you just love it when things like (4) happen?

One of our bookshelves did it about a month back.........

Argh!

My bookshelves are sturdy but there is a deeply shameful book cupboard in which books stand three deep on the shelves and lean in teetering piles on the floor.. occasionally an ominous rumbling from within alerts me to a book avalanche situation. I simply have to find time to sort that cupboard out!

One of the reasons we'll be moving some time next year- we need more library space!

I dream of having a proper library.. with a fireplace and central table and one of those lovely curvy sets of steps to get to the shelving at ceiling level, till then there are bookcases in every room of the house, even the bathroom.

Oh, you've had a bit of a calamitous week! A flood is something we can all do without, even small ones cause so much damage.

Glad Flagrante is okay and fingers crossed she stays okay. You have reminded me that I need to go out and let Olga's engine run a bit. I don't want t flat battery!

Glad you are enjoying your new office.

And yes, it's cold and I have just popped the heat on for an hour o so!

It's been most annoying but hey, in the great scheme of things none of it matters.

Sun is out now... hoping it will stay out long enough to dry the last of the laundry!

Definitely not a good way to start out the month, sending good vibes along in hopes the rest of the month is much more peaceful.

Thank you. I'm hoping that all will be calm for the rest of the month

That's rather a lot of mess to deal with in one week. Though I have to say that calamities are what most often force me to do chores I simply put off for far too long so said disasters are both a blesssing and a curse.
I hope Flagrante behaves!

The flooding sounds horrible as do the plumbing system woes. The car issues sound frustrating! I hope that's it for the bad for this month!

The flooding was a right nuisance and I fear that a very nice rug may not be retrievable , luckily most of the plumbing stuff was done while I was at work but two evenings of having fill buckets with cold water from the utility sink for cooling the bath or flushing the loo were a pain, as was cleaning up the mess.

The car is worrying, I'm fretful in case the problem reoccurs but if no fault can be found it can't be fixed; fingers crossed that it was just a gremlin
