Am I the only one who got the Pete's Dragon references on this week's Pushing Daisies? Nora. Elliot. Lighthouse!

Does anyone else even remember Pete's Dragon??

EDIT: Wait, wasn't the town called Pasamaquotty or something? And the characters on PD are Nora and Elliot McQuotty. This is making me oddly happy.

Pete's Dragon was my favorite. We should rent it one night. And have delicious warm beverages.

Pete's Dragon is still one of my favorite Disney movies--for obvious reasons.

That's weird though--it's the second time it's come up for me in the last couple of weeks--I stumbled across this a few days ago and had many happy recollections.

that's pretty awesome, but when did toys get so expensive?!

Well, it's not a toy, it's a statue, and they always charge WAY more than those things are worth for what essentially is like a toy, only, you know, not mobile or really useful at all. So, I'll just go buy the movie on DVD instead and be far happier.

Pete's Dragon was what we saw for my 8th or 9th birthday party, in the theater of course. weirdly, the sappy Helen Reddy ballad is what i remember best.

It's not a real town in Maine, but if you come visit I'll show you dozens like it.

from wikipedia:
The second season premiered on October 1, 2008. As ratings declined, ABC opted not to order additional episodes beyond the second season's initial thirteen. In the November 14, 2008 issue of Entertainment Weekly, Michael Ausiello reported that the recently filmed thirteenth episode could be the last for the series.

well, let's hope that it's dozen or so emmys change their minds!
