I suggest 3 or 6, with a jacket or shawl to cover bare arms (and give you a way to be a bit subtle about rebuffing any letchery that is directed your way. These two look grown up and stylish without being "hunting for a husband" or "sluts on patrol".
Weddings are rough things. This one sounds like a *nightmare*, honestly. Egad.
It's not that bad. The difficulty is trying to not stand out in the bad way or starting rumours. I happen to like my cousin, and I don't want to make things harder for their family.
As as for 'hunting for a husband', I'm being pressured to formalise things with TigerEyes. I'm more afraid of looking like I'm hunting for a client..:P
Moving past my confusion as to why you would care too much about the opinions of hundreds of people when you don't know them and will probably never see them again ... my choice would be number 2: Lovely colour, elegant, not black.
Because gossip in an Asian family can get nasty, and I'd like to spare my cousin's family from that.
I can wear black (I should have clarified - it's for the reception) and not excite too much comment. They'll just chalk it up to my being from overseas.
From my POV, a well fitting dress is more important than the label as that will determine whether you look good in it. If you buy online you have greater chance of needing alterations done locally. I know you said you wanted something designer, but is there any chance you could find something locally in the $200 to $300 range? That would be a safer option.
I liked 2 and 3, though I am unsure just how low cut the top is. I find that waistbands draw attention to waistlines in ways thatare often unflattering; if your underwear does what it's supposed to do, then a sleek line will show off the hourglass underneath nicely.

Don't wear black to a wedding. Is is an "old rule" but many people still think it's a no-no. Unless you're the bridesmaid and that's the color scheme.

I can get away with black for the reception, as they'll chalk it up to my being from overseas and 'Westernised'. :/

I'm not wearing the same clothes all day. And it's in the tropics. After about three hours you'll sweat into it.
