Its been SUCH a long time since I've updated. I feel lame. Summer can be so distracting, its crazy. On the sewing front I didn't do anything at all untill recently. I started up my 18c. jacket again, but was halted by the fact that my lining/pattern completely didn't fit AT ALL. I'm having to just cover up all the bare edges with bias tape now ( Read more... )

I swear I'm still alive and perfectly well. I just haven't done much sewing lately because of really interesting developments in the boy department. But I think I'll have time to sew soon. I'm lurking and admiring, I just wish I had time to do as my "friends" do and make fab garments. sigh.

All the same, I LOVE SUMMER!!!!!

One can not buy small quantities of fabric from Thai silks? When I try to put in 6 yards of a woven silk, they change it to 28 yards or 22 or some ridiculous amount that I can not afford...

I'm REALLY bummed if they have a high minimum....

So yesterday I realized that the sleeves look terrible and the jacket just does not fit the way I want, so I had to make adjustments to some of the side pleats. Of course this made the front of the jacket not align as it used to so now I need to think of a creative way to make it all work out and. well, I did want to update with pictures tonight, but I attatched sleeves instead. Now everything IS CRAPPY!!!! the same problems I thought I had mended with my sleeves and shoulder strap slipping off the shoulder is happening again. LAME!!!!!! So now I'm frustrated and am going to ignore the problem untill tommorow.

I am sooooo upset, mad, miffed, and confused. I thought I would have enough fabric for my sleeves, and I DON'T! I don't know what else to do but piece part of the sleeve. I just can't believe this. I don't want three quarter length, because I honestly can not visualize a redingote style with out long fitted sleeves. I've never seen one before ( Read more... )
