After much heated negotiating, my brother and I have managed to reach a decision on the matter of wallpaper. I am so pleased that we arrived at that conclusion without doing anything utterly rude or immature to each other.

The pattern we've chosen appeals to both of us, and should not cause any further disagreement or arguing.

Polka dots. More ( Read more... )

Without doing anything utterly rude or immature to each other?

Watch me be incredibly amused. You poked me in the eye during our "heated negotiating"!

I know you'll both be in there an awful lot more than I will, unless I drop out or something, but polka dots?

I don't approve of polka dots. Polka dots are hideous. Why can't we just do a classy plaster treatment instead, maybe a nice rich gold with red through it, instead of polka dots?

Maybe you're both forgetting that I'm now part of this business, too, and should get the chance to have a voice in matters of the business.

Also, Mum loves me best because I'm the girl and her little princess. You're the troublemakers.

Polka dots were the best we could come up with! They are fun! Whimsical! Spontaneous!

They're exactly what the shop needs to have a fun, spunky atmosphere!

The best you could come up with?! And you call yourself a businessman?!

Polka dots scream, "We have no taste or knowledge of trends! And why should our products be any different?" Also, they look like your arse!

Imbed glitter in the plaster if you have to, but NOT. POLKA. DOTS.

Thinking completely logically and practically, as me and Fred (sort of) concluded in retrospect, it doesn't really matter what the wallpapers look like as 70% of the walls of the shop will be covered with shelves and products. And as you know, we have a lot of products. So we'll have a lot of shelves. Ergo (a word Muggles use to sound more intelligent than they actually are!), most of the time none of the customers will see the wallpaper a lot.

And polka dots remind people of fun things. And we're selling fun things! It all makes perfect sense! (Fun things -> fun things - I made a graph about this if you still don't believe it!)

If you still think we've made some sort of grave mistake, we could always hold a shareholders' (though we don't have any shares to hold) meeting about the matter. But really, isn't it just easier on everyone if we conclude we've reached a decision ad it is the correct one to make?

Because it is the correct one.

That's actually quite a good idea. I think it would be even better if it were hearts, though. Don't you agree?

Now, that would be just stupid. Hearts.

We don't want to intimidate the customers with prematurely imposed intimacy that hearts might suggest. Best to keep the shapes simple and friendly. And circular!

Stupid, hmm. I see.

Well, it was just a suggestion.

I remember a man named Dr. Seuss came to the the Death Eaters once with a suggestion of changing the robes to a more whimsical shade of polka dot. The idea was shot down because someone complained that blood stains on polka dotted robes would show more than it would on black robes!

But with red polka dots, the splatters of blood would just blend in! Good thinking Weasleys! It warms my heart to know that you are both thinking as a Future Death Eater should!
