Today I drove into work and the freeways were so dry. It didn't even look like it snowed! But the roads around my house are still covered in a mixture of snow, ice, sand, and de-icer. A friend from Symantec just told me that the former director of our team died this past weekend when his house caught on fire. I used to call him Papa John because he always took care of everyone on the team. I just can't believe it. To say it's extremely sad is an incredible understatement.

Although I am slammed at work, I found much amusement in this news article.

I've been at work now for 11 hours and 39 minutes.

I will be at work for an additional 81 minutes, for a total of 13 hours.

P.S. On Friday it took me 1 hour and 50 minutes to drive the 17 miles home from work. Tonight I'm going to try the backroads.

I've been up since 5:45 am and, despite my best efforts, only made it into work by 7:20 am. I was hoping to be here by 6:30 am to get in as many working hours possible. Traffic around here truly does suck. It's ridiculous how unpredictable it is, and it's crazy that I can't even get on the road at 6:30 am and expect to go faster than 30 mph. I'm ( Read more... )

My officemate sent me a link to Angry Alien Productions, which is a site with 30-second cartoon parodies of popular movies, but re-enacted by bunnies. They have Star Wars, The Ring, Office Space, and a bunch more. Very funny.
