Gamage!
I think this evening's Transformers Table Top went very well. It took a bit of getting used to GMing and we had a bit of a slow start but I think everyone had fun. Ed and Andy D certainly seemed to! More Steam Stuff
So today I've stripped down Schnarff the Mamod(so called because he's small, tempremental and sometimes annoying) back to component parts. Stripped down the valve chest and cylinders to ensure they were not blocked. Washed out a fuck load of gungy oil (so the lubricator works then...) and re-assembled. Boiler Transplant
After waiting like....three months or more. FINALLY new boiler and cylinders for my steam engine have arrived. MUCHOS FAFF in fitting them.

Today I jointly led a workshop on the hymns of Charles Wesley. Which was interesting. I pointed out how the Protestant hymn-singing tradition is a German one (thanks Luther) and pointed out the bleeding obvious that as most people were illiterate in Britain hymns would have been sung either line by line by a Kantor with the Congregation responding ( Read more... ) -
What a week.
Leeds twice in a week...This is getting an expensive pass time. Which is not good considering as the Job Centre says that I can now claim Employment Support Allowanve but only get £17.00 a week because of Andy's income. Aha. I gues that pays my gym membership or a train ticket to Leeds? maybe.

Had a positive Supervision today. Makes a change. I think my sixth draft of my Literature Review has been accepted. Proff Spiers must be feeling ill, or as actually read the Dept. style guide for submitting work.

Had a pleasent few days in London. ANdy, God bless him,helped me a gazillion percent in doing research with me at the National Army Museum. Two full days of research there and well, not that much data despite there being nearly 200 sets of letters and papers relating to the Crimean War in their archive!A lot of them are simply not relevant or ( Read more... ) -
