So....Ive got a very short, tentative list of names from the Zouaves of the Imperial Guard. Now despite this being a very small sample, if the Zouaves as the British soldiers in the Crimean War thought and some American authors still think, that the Zouaves were all Algerian or African....then that would show up....however thus far no Arab/Algerian ( Read more... ) -

MA Stuff
Ive now written up my French biblio for my MA....and I have more primary material from French Officers and Soldiers in the Crimean War than British. It is more varied in terms of regiments involved (infantry, cavalry, artillery) and also accross the ranks (from General to Corporal, but thats not surprising given that all French soldiers were taught ( Read more... ) -
Musics
Had an interesting chat with the Superintendent about a Circuit Choir or Music Group or similar. Now OUR vision is for a circuit choir, due to both of us coming from a Musical background and also from a Liturgical one too. Jobs, work etc.
So I've received official notice that the student I was mentoring before Christmas has withdrawn from University and the University Disability Office cannot place me with a new student. Ergo I am now officially unemployed. Hopefully, I can sign on to E.S.A. again citing lack of job making Depression and Anxiety worse. Which it is ( Read more... ) -

I am currently debating whether to a) quit my uni Masters course or b) defer it until I can get a job (which may take a while, considering I'll need a fairly flexible part time job allowing me to take off random days as and when for research, supervisions etc at Leeds)

On the Mamod Steam Railway forums an online friend and I, who is a Quaker, have been the butt of, well, attacks or at least very rude posts from a Biblical Literalist Born Again type.
