This morning I tuned in to Breakfast of Champions (it being Thursday, and my favorite DJ was on the air). It was an all-covers hour, and the second song I heard was a cover of "Together in Electric Dreams" from the 1984 film Electric Dreams - SQUEEEEE! So delighted was I, that I almost ran the light at Central and Summer (oops).

More smelliness

Yesterday I wore some of the Une Rose sample I got at Barneys over the weekend. It's really turbo-rose - the salesperson told me it has 25% rose absolute (she also told me it was her favorite). Thanksgiving weekend drive-by

Baking frenzy on Wednesday night - vegan apple cider cupcakes [1] and chocolate cake. Woke up at 7 on Thursday to finish the cupcake icing and cake frosting. Left at 9:30 for NJ and Fred's 'rents (alas, did not get to run in the Gobble Gobble Gobble 4 miler that morning), and we managed to make it there by 2:30. I'm going to the LUPEC USO Show fundraiser tomorrow night, and I can't think of anything to wear that would be in theme. So sad, Out of Town news is closing. It played a not insignificant role in my life during the grad school years. Ah well. Now I consume much of my news online, just like everyone else, seemingly. Still, it would be nice to keep a source of French Elle magazines.

New/old habits

This past week, I've been alternating listening to the BBC World Service on WBUR with listening to WMBR during my commute in. While Breakfast of Champions is a fairly recent habit (a few years), I haven't listened to WBUR in maybe 7 years. I went into my journal's back catalogue, and looked at what I wrote about the outcome of the 2004 election. So my Dad wasn't quite correct about his predictions for who would run in 2008, but still, it's interesting to read what we were thinking back then.
