Today we're celebrating the JOURNALVERSARY. Yes, folks, it's been ten years since a wee 17-year-old Laurie crawled onto the Internet and began documenting her life on black backgrounds with white text and creepy red links. A toast to you, 17-year-old self. Let's see what she had to say ten years ago tonight:

I was hoping you would post this entry. :)

I remember when I first found your journal. This was in 2003, and I found you through diarist.net! I spent my summer working as a temp that year, and your journal got me through some very boring days at the office.

Happy 10 Years!

Yours was the first journal that inspired me to try my hand at writing about my life online. And who knew? It's an addiction!

It'll be 10 years for me next September. Oi.

Wow, 10 years ago this fall, I drew up the design (it really should be "design" in this case) for my first web site - which I believe the cool kids were then calling "personal homepages" - in my typing class in ninth grade. Crazy that it's been that long. Happy journalversary.

Thanks!

Yes! "Personal homepages"! I haven't heard that in years. Why didn't we just say website?

I drew up the "design" for mine, too. Then I went into Paintbrush and started doing what I thought was making a website. It took me a while to realize that I couldn't just upload a Paintbrush bmp and have all the "links" (blue text with blue underlines) work right. Ha.
