Yes, folks, it's been ten years since a wee 17-year-old Laurie crawled onto the Internet and began documenting her life on black backgrounds with white text and creepy red links. Oh, hi Livejournal! It's been a while. It's funny how I didn't feel the urge to write publicly about my life while I had the time and the equipment to do so, but, upon heading across several time zones for a wedding and a four-day weekend, I got in my mind all sorts of entries I wanted to write. Catching up (various bookish thoughts)

Oh my. I haven't read LJ in... 4 or 5 days? And it's not like I've been out of town or doing anything terribly important. I opened my Friends page this morning and began reading and commenting somewhat haphazardly. I'll do a proper, reverse-chronological read this evening.

This is my commemorative I-finished-my-novel-draft! post. At 10:02 pm this evening, I typed the last word of the last chapter, checked my word count one more time, hit save, and closed the file.
Finished! And it feels so good.
What's not so good, though, are my last three chapters. Actually, they're fairly dreadful. I think I mentioned in another ( Read more... ) -
For the record...
Mike (alchemi) challenged his friends list to write 7 public entries a week. This journal is quite out of shape and would implode if I tried posting in it that much. I vowed 3 or 4 entries a week. Because I'm working like mad on my novel right now, I'm going to keep it easy and do more annotated lists of 5. Any suggestions for lists of 5 I could do (not ( Read more... ) -
