Congrats on finishing the manuscript!

I'm not sure what genre it's in, but in SF/fantasy, my understanding (from back when I knew folks in publishing) is that it's actually a bit easier to get published with a series. The thinking is that SF/fantasy fans, like folks in fandom, want a continuing story, not just a standalone novel. So that may be in your favor.

Yeah, it's Fantasy -- well, that's good! I didn't know if the 'first time author' would make that problematic.
