I passed my driving test on Monday. Again. Now I have two licences, one for Ohio, one for Massachusetts. Technically, both are valid. This is an odd country.

I can't read 'massachusetts' without wanting to strip down to my pants and run screaming round and round in circles till I get too dizzy to stay upright. That has nothing to do with the Bee Gees.

Hey, at least you're attempting to adhere to our crazy system. I had a boss from the UK that always pulled out his UK license when stopped. The idea was that he was over here on vacation and there was no need to give him a ticket. But this backfired one night when he was speeding on his motorcycle. He pulled out the UK license, said he was going back overseas in the morning...and they threw him in jail so he would have to pay the ticket before leaving the country!

While driving in my quite possibly dodgy Ohio licence in MA I always planned, if stopped by the police, to feign ignorance in as bumbling a British manner as possible. I am glad I didn't have to actually try that.

Isn't it so much fun filling our forms?
When I was a child we would have to do various worksheets and paperwork. (they called it seatwork then) I was an adult before I realized that all the damn worksheets they had us doing was really training for dealing with all the damn paperwork you have as an adult. Taxes, social security, going to the DMV. Nothing but worksheets.

When I changed states, I did not have to take a new driving test. Also, Virginia took my New York license. Jerks.

I need a new license. This is good because my picture on the old one is horrid.

My old Ohio licence was non-transferable because it turned out I was a dirty foreigner when I got it.

Now I have my new licence and though the photo makes me look like a dirty foreigner, as far as I can tell this one is legitimate.

Yeah, most states confiscate your old license. That's weird.

I fear they have left it with me so they can put me in jail for possessing it later. It's all about putting people in jail with these people.
