Just got back from singing Dream of Gerontius with the Philharmonia. We didn't suck. A couple of moments that we've done better in rehearsal, but generally a good performance. To a full house, which is always better. All in all a nice way to finish my time with the choir.

Does anyone know if there is a period ticket that covers bus, DART and Luas? I can only seem to find versions for bus/Luas or bus/DART/train.

natural20 very kindly bought me DVDs for my birthday, including Dara O'Briain Live at the Theatre Royal. I've seen him live a couple of times now and ended up in tears on both occasions. Between the main show and the 30 minute extra of Live at the Apollo (the Jack Dee show from a couple of years ago), the DVD has all of my favourite bits:

There's a letter in the local paper today (link here, but I don't know how long it will remain valid) from someone complaining that they couldn't book an appointment for an x-ray until the request had been authorised. They suggest that this is a reason why the NHS is short of cash. I don't understand this. How is it more efficient to take ( Read more... )
