We finally made the trip to the Children's Museum in Indianapolis yesterday. I'm pleased to to say the trip went much better than I had anticipated. I think all the preparation and talking about it beforehand really helped Andrew to be ready. There were a few times when he got a bit sad and withdrawn, but no meltdowns! Fun was had by all! Took Jake (the oldest) to the neuropsychologist for a check up today. He's pretty pleased that Jake seems to be doing well at school, and that a lot of the negative behaviors we were seeing at home are remitting. He says his issues may have just been developmental delay, but he isn't ready to take the Asperger diagnosis away just yet. He wants ( Read more... ) -
Perfume
Had the strangest thing happen last night. I was dreaming and as I was beginning to wake, I smelled perfume. A very floral perfume. Pretty strong, no mistaking it. I was afraid to open my eyes because I thought there was some woman in the room; that's how real the smell was. And it didn't disappear as soon as I woke. I was a bit freaked out ( Read more... ) -

Yesterday at pre-school the teacher informed me that Andrew flew into a crying screaming rage kicking chairs and throwing himself down on the ground. One teacher said he did this for no apparent reason. His other teacher described the situation to me: She held up a replica of a monarch butterfly and asked Andrew what kind it was.
