I may not get to it tonight, but I would like to reassure certain members of my flist that I am recording the Dr. Who eps airing on sci-fi channel tonight and I will watch them.

TV critics
Umpteenth review of Battlestar Galactica which praises it by bashing the science fiction television show inherently as a format. Battlestar Galactica isn't like those OTHER science fiction shows. It's okay to watch BSG, you're hip, you're cool, if you watch BSG. Those other shows are just for geeks.

Thinking of Persepolis
The President of Iran just banned all Western music from the country. It's unclear from the article whether he has banned all music, or just Western music.
This would be a good time to recommend the graphic novel memoir Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi, about an Iranian girl growing up in Tehran in the early 1980's during the Islamic Revolution. It's ( Read more... ) -
The Lion, the Witch, and kids during wartime
The non-spoilery comments: overall, a joy to watch. They tweaked and fine tuned, cutting some things from the book, adding things that weren't there. All of it was in service to the story and greatly enhanced the character story arcs.
