Your Government in Action..Today I went before the Douglas County Board of Tax equalization to appeal a tax increase on my new home. I bought the house in 9/29/2009 for 64K and the bank had also assessed it at 65K ( Read more... )

The board chair also sided with me - saying I DID buy the house at 64K. But yeah, I might have bettered 'city hall' or in this case - Douglas County.

Too often times folks just let them do whatever, and never question it, never look into it, or complain. Sheeple I tell you. Too many sheeple.

I think we could appeal the tax valuation on our house, too - except that I'm afraid it would change the replacement value of the insurance (which is about 170% of what we paid for the place). I want to keep the insurance value, just in case something does happen.
