Officially done and off to Trinidad on Saturday...all I have to do is wrap up some apartment/subletter stuff before I leave, pack like a mother, and get a few last minute summer supplies.

5 pages and 4.5 hours left.

Booyah.  I am going to write a motherfucking 25 page paper.  In a weekend.

And it is FUCKING GOOD.

25 page paper due Monday at 5:00.

4 pages written, 3 more pages of typed notes and half-paragraphs that will soon be actual pages.

Then, huge 2 hour Spanish final Tuesday night.

Know what I love about making puppets? Inanimate objects, once given life, will surprise you with how utterly /endearing/ they are. I've been up all night (it's 4:30am now) making these butterfly puppets using wire and fabric. Hours of flimsy fabric and burning my fingers with the glue gun and despairing as earlier prototypes didn't work out... ( Read more... )

Today was so beautiful...66 degrees, sunny, and breezy. Isn't it amazing how when the weather improves, the whole world opens up? My second summer plan came through! Now for the first two weeks of summer vacation I'm going to be in Trinidad saving leatherback sea turtles...doing night patrols on the beach and measuring, tagging, and examining mother turtles, moving nests to higher ground if its needed, and helping baby turtles make it to the ocean.
