On a whim I drove up to the hills to watch the sunset tonight. I don’t know what it is about driving on winding roads, listening to good music and watching the sky change colors over a panoramic view of the bay, but it makes me happy in a way that very little else does…

Spent Thursday night at Bike Polo. Was very, very cold. Wore my snowboarding pants and something like 4 layers of clothes. At first I felt like an idiot. As the night wore on, I felt like a genius!

1. I have abnormally small Eustachian tubes in my ears. They are relevant because, a. they help regulate pressure in the ear, which is why I can’t easily swim deeper than 12 feet and why I’m very sensitive to elevation changes, and, b. when blocked they are the culprit behind ear infections, which I was plagued with as a small child. Why does everything written by the IRS (forms, instructions, procedures) have to be both mind numbing and confusing? I’m not asking for witty and entertaining, but clarity doesn’t seem like it should be too much to ask, does it? It turns out that the kitten belonged to my neighbor’s child and that it was alone in the hallway because they thought that was a better place for the cat to nap since there’s a dog in their apartment and the two animals weren’t exactly getting along (?!?) Also, this morning as we were rushing out of the house, we happened upon the most adorable little tomcat kitten in our hallway. No one was around. Circadian rhythm WAY off….drank 2 large mugs of extra strength sleepytime tea last night to try to right myself, but still ended up staring at the ceiling until 3:30am-ish.
